Mando Brose

Utilization of Mandobrose architecture and Markbase

About Mando Brose

Mando Brose is an automotive motor specialist established in

2011 as a joint venture between Korea's Mando Corporation and

Germany's Brose, a global auto parts company.

Customer Needs

To collect data from multiple PLCs (control devices) for each
production line in real-time, monitor the status of each line,
and link alarm and process progress data with the existing MES system.

Customer's Pain Points

01

Real-time monitoring
unavailable

Data is collected from 1,500 sensors, but using both MS-SQL and Oracle with different data structures makes real-time monitoring impossible.

02

Parts history management
not supported

Parts history management in the factory is not possible, so RFID tags are recognized and managed manually.

Solution

Embedded Machbase time series DBMS in each edge device for each of the seven production lines. This allows data collected from the edge devices of each production line to be automatically transmitted to and stored on the central server in real time.

Alarm data and progress data required by the MES are transmitted and stored in the RDBMS of the MES by calling a procedure on the edge device when a change occurs.

Results

01

Ease of
management by line

Easy management of the status of each line through data monitoring of production lines.

02

Rapid issue
identification on alarm

Improved productivity by quickly identifying and responding to problems in the event of alarms.

03

Check process
status in real-time

Real-time monitoring of the process status of the production line with progress data.

04

Big data analysis
of facility data

Big data analysis of facility data, laying the foundation for quality analysis and predictive maintenance of facilities.
